Activity No.1
1.      Part
(Triangles) The System Game: The participants should experience, that all individual steps have some impact for the whole system - as consumer habits have impact on environmental issues

Description of the tool

Very Important: The explanation has to be understood of all the participants!
- Place yourself in the room
- choose 2 people in the room - do not choose the friends you would usually choose
- but do not tell anyone choose just for yourself
- with this 2 people without talking or communicating try to place yourself so that all the tree of you (you and the 2 persons you chose) stand in the same distance with each other
- try to maintain
- go

What had happened when one of the people started to move?
Does it have an effect on the whole group? Why?

This tool is used in the context of workshops on environment, the ecological footprint, climate and ressource, sustainable development and international inequalities

the message is -
what you do matters for the whole system

2.      part
Your task is to find an insect or plant, that it was not typical in your region before 20-30 years. Make a picture of this insect or plant and with a description of its effect on the local ecological system, please publish it on the blog.
For discussion of its effects please take in an account:
-          How it had arrived into your region?
-          Is there the ecological system prepared for controlling the amount and the effect of this insect or plant?
-          Does it affect the local system negatively or positively?
-          Does it have any economical effect?

Results of Golden Orange Youth Group

Gathered together 21 January 2013 with 10 youngsters

Aim: The participants should experience, that all individual steps have some impact for the whole system – as consumer habits have impact on environmental issues.
Theme: The group members watched the video about ecology. While watching, the youngsters brainstormed about the meaning of the word ecology.

Ecology is the study of the relationship between living organisms, including humans, and their physical environment; it seeks to understand the vital connections between plants and animals and the world around them. Ecology also provides information about the benefits of ecosystems and how we can use Earth’s resources in ways that leave the environment healthy for future generations.
Ecologists study these relationships among organisms and habitats of many different sizes, ranging from the study of microscopic bacteria growing in a fish tank, to the complex interactions between the thousounds of plant, animal, and other communites found in a desert.

One of the Project members a girl who is called Gülsüm did a presentation about ecology and made the team to watch videos about the role of ecology in our lives. We talked about ecological footprints. She also gave the meaning of ecological footprint as a measure of human demand on the Earth's ecosystem. It represents the amount of biologically productive land and sea area necessary to supply the resources a human population consumes, and to assimilate associated waste. Using this assessment, it is possible to estimate how much of the Earth (or how many planet Earths) it would take to support humanity if everybody followed a given lifestyle.

The team played the System game. Everybody chose two friends without talking or communicating. At the first step, one person hugged and kissed the two of others and they got surprised but surprisingly they hugged and kissed the other members. It went on like that and everybody in the team did the same attitudes to others. As a result one person’s attitude had an effect to whole group. It is as same as the ecosystem.

Rhynchophorus ferrugineus(Red Palm Weevil)
Nearly 3 cm length of male and female individuals brown. Adults typically have a long and convoluted hose is a powerful wings to fly long distances. First time Red palm Weevil seen in India (Lefroy, 1906).

Later this type seen other Asian, Middle Eastern and Arab countries. This type harmful for palm industry. This harm nearly $ 200 million in Saudi Arabia.

Spreading areas :
Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Spain, Morocco, and Algeria with Bangladesh, Bahrain, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Malaysia, Myanmar, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Australia, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands

The first examples of the pest in Mersin, This Type seen in a garden , in Mezitli. About two years after this recording, this species of insect, Adana, parks and grown in the gardens of palm trees .more than 20% of damage caused by the trees, so removed.

Famale of this type drop nearly 200 eggs, in the new leaf and combined place or injury body and leaf Larvae from the eggs enter into the body and feeding in there. Larval make the tunnels in body. Depending on the number of increasing tunnel, Palm to fall over or decomposition.
Ferry & Gomez (2002) Various chemicals used in Spain and they reported no effect. There is one solution , You must cut All palms affected by ill.

Invasive alien species currently constitute a serious threat for biodiversity and large economic losses. The
risks associated to its introduction are in constant growth due to the increase of trade, tourism, transport and
market globalization. Examples of these species can be found in the fauna such as the red swamp or
Louisiana crawfish and in the flora as the ailanthus, which affect a great deal of the Spanish provinces, as
that of Avila.

American Crab. It is a river crab, native in the south east of United States, that can be find on other continents as well, a lot of time becoming an invasive species.  In the rivers of Valle del Tiétar this crab caused death of the autochthonous crab. This diminution of the autochthonous crab population was caused by a crab´ disease Afanomicosis, that is brought to this region by the American crab.

Blue eucaliptus:
An invasory tree that causes a serious diminution of local fauna diversity, by making the soil sour.

We started to activities with talking and researching about ecology. Ecology is a human science as well and it it very important and board subject.

Ecology includes non-living components (light, water, wind, nutrients in soil, heat, solar radiation, atmosphere, etc.), living organisms (animals, plants, microorganisms etc.). Ecology views each locale as an integrated whole of interdependent parts that function as a unit.

Then, we played THE SYSTEM GAME. It was good to see the affects of our behaviors. When one of them kisses the other, all the group kiss their partners. When one of them slap or shout the other, all the group started to slap pr shout. We understand that the system is like a mirror and it is the life:   What goes around comes around and we have a good saying: ‘Ne ekersen onu biçersin’ (What plant now you will harvest later).

These cone-bearing evergreens, commonly called firs, are large, majestic trees. Place them in groups, singly in lawns, or in forest plantings. Their  upright cones vary in color -- purple, blue, red-brown or green -- by  species. The flat needles are aromatic. Firs prefer moist, cool, acid soil and full sun. Many types need some winter chill and shelter from wind. Polluted city air hinders growth. Though firs do not require pruning, you can tip back branches ends to promote denser growth. Even large trees are transplantable.

Extremely rare in cultivation, this densely needled Fir's Turkish mountain heritage makes it more vigorous and heat-tolerant than species from lower elevations.

Activity No.2
About our consumption and the consumption in different cultures and states J
Elephant footprint
Compare your elephant footprints with the other the footprints of the others J So please publish one of the participants footprint (the one he/she made alone with all his/her usual things) and one that contain the reduced economical footprint to be able to compare. For participants footprint please use the one with the highest footprint.

Golden Orange youth Group
We have been to the Soler energy center and here are the pictures and information about the trip.

Report activity Ecology on the subject of the environment:

we first see the video environment which through to open discussion on the topic of the environment as a definition and dimensions of environmental problems and major environmental issues( urban pollution- desertification- retreat forest- etc...) that suffers from Morocco.

also, has been show the elements of the Moroccan environmental policy, it was agreed after this show to organize awareness campaign in the near area on the rationalization of water use between young people.

and it was concluded this first activity by playing the exercise of THE SYSTEM GAME, the results were very positive on the participants who came out the importance of the rule that was started by this activity:the one land and the one common destiny’’, which shows that the environmental issues is a common denominator among all the world's population.

Saffron (pronounced is a spice derived from the flower of Crocus sativus, commonly known as the saffron crocus. Crocus is a genus in the family Iridaceae.
The domesticated saffron crocus,
Crocus sativus, is an autumn-flowering perennial plant unknown in the wild. Its progenitors are possibly the eastern Mediterranean autumn-flowering Crocus cartwrightianus, which is also known as "wild saffron" and originated in Greece. The saffron crocus likely resulted when C. cartwrightianus was subjected to extensive artificial selection by growers seeking longer stigmas. C. thomasii and C. pallasii are other possible sources.
Entered to Morocco during the beginning of the 20 th century, and the Taliouine is considered the most famous cities of the souss massa draa specialized in the cultivation of this plant, and the population of this region are getting a lot of money as it is called a red gold.

Is the main carrier of the disease yellowing of tomato leaves to souss massa region, so named because the presence of a white layer on the bodies of many of them, and today in one of the most dangerous harmful insects that are harmful to vegetables cultivated in the region of Chtouka ait baha ( tomatoes- lettuce…), and suffered farmers of this region because it have seriously damaged on the level of the production.

On 20 of may together with 150 students of IES Juana Pimentel, our european volunteer Ade Nedelcu has organized an ECO BATUCADA /ECO DRUMMING. The activity was realized as an closing event of the Science Week. As drum instruments the students have used spoons, cartoon boxes, basisns and plastic bottles with sand inside. Under a link with a video of the activity. Enjoy it!

We have gone a seminar about carbon footprint  one year ago. We talked about seminar  topic and weexplain what is carbon footprint to  other youngsters. Youngsters discused about the footprint between countries. We analyse the world map about carbon footprint.

Then we did the activity. All of youngsters calculated the carbon amount they diffusing.

Irmak:10000 Aysu:8500 Sıla:7600 Cansu:8000 Esad:11500 Gülce:9300 Gözde:7000 Alsan:12000

We realize that how much we pollute the environment! We talked that how can we decrease the number.

And We decided that everyone should have electronically devices only they need. Because there is too much carbon diffusion when the device producing and charging them.
